About Me

My photo
Well, when I was a little girl I would spend hours flipping through the pages of a huge catalogue called "Quelle" that my father had brought from Germany. It had glossy pages full of beautiful pictures of lovely rooms, furniture and furnishing and was written in a language I could not decipher. But I think the pictures left an ever lasting impression on my mind and I grew up to be 'me' who drools not over food (or that too!) but good interior design, colors and photography. I also passionately love coffee, films, books, music, white gladioli, solitude, risotto, donuts, and my life (not exactly always in that order). I live in Bombay, India with my husband and little daughter and they both have changed my life in many beautiful ways.

GREY IS NOT BORING

When it comes to home decor, I love abundant use of greys and whites as much as I like a bright and happy colour palette. I feel most at ease in white surroundings with a touch of grey here and there. Even though it is quite an ordeal to keep your 'whites' white in a not-so-clean city like Bombay, I still dare to incorporate whites in the decor at the slightest opportunity. Although grey is something that I haven't laid my hands on yet,  I immensely enjoy  virtual tours of  all the white and grey houses. In the blog world, I have discovered many beautiful Scandinavian blogs where I see white and grey being used so fearlessly in home decor and never looking gloomy or lifeless. A clutter-free, light filled Norwegian wood house with clean lines or a Swedish house where grey plays a key colour in home decor, are so soothing to your eyes. I love the way they capture and play with the natural light in their photography and always manage to make an all white & grey room look inviting, warm and not even a teeny weeny bit boring.

Do you still think grey is boring!

  1. Truly said. Grey symbolizes elegance. (Atleast to me) Nicelly written. :)

  2. Even I use grey with a hint of color here and there. It is not at all boring. :)
