Hello friends! I can see that you guys like the desi style in home decor. A big thanks to all my Indiblogger friends who liked my last blogpost Decor -Desi Style. So I am going to keep the desi spirit up and alive in this post as well and take you on a visual tour of an eclectic Bombay apartment.
This is the first House Tour on my blog, where I personally went and photographed the happy home of Chaitali where she lives with her husband Abhi and 10 year old son Agnibho. Well, thankfully Chaitali happens to be my sister : ) Otherwise, who would allow me to bring the Saturday morning activities around their house to a standstill for a photo session! BTW our camera broke down last night, so I had to borrow Abhi's Nikon Coolpix for the photo shoot. Well, I don't own a DSLR yet. Sigh! Hope my husband reads this post, and... ; )
So come along and take a tour of this warm and inviting house I love to go over to every now and then. Chaitali is a whimsical artist (besides being a special educator who also holds a bachelor of law degree) who can sometimes stay up all night and hand paint all the curtains in the house and sometimes she doesn't touch the paint and brush for days and months. The walls of her home are mostly bare because she's been planning to paint murals on them. And I am waiting to photograph when that finally happens. Their house reflects her love for things that are hand-made and hand woven... it is an eclectic mix of vibrant colors, artifacts, hand-made pottery, hand painted curtains and contemporary furniture.
Please leave your footwear right here...A Bengali custom that Chaitali likes to stick to. And if you knew her personally, you would not want to upset her over this or anything for that matter :))
She doesn't give any handicraft mela in town a miss....
Styling & photography by- Yours truly.
All right, I just can't seem to have enough of that!

ReplyDeleteExceptionally good which is highly appreciated by all of us seated in front of the computer set. Thanks a lot to all of you who contributed tremendously in presenting such a good show to all of us present here in Kolkata (those present are Abhi's parents, boromashi and beloved sister Mamon).
ReplyDeleteI knew your sister and brother-in-law, as well as Agnibho. I can see the warmth that I found familiar in them coming through in your pictures. Thanks, the photos are lovely.
