About Me

My photo
Well, when I was a little girl I would spend hours flipping through the pages of a huge catalogue called "Quelle" that my father had brought from Germany. It had glossy pages full of beautiful pictures of lovely rooms, furniture and furnishing and was written in a language I could not decipher. But I think the pictures left an ever lasting impression on my mind and I grew up to be 'me' who drools not over food (or that too!) but good interior design, colors and photography. I also passionately love coffee, films, books, music, white gladioli, solitude, risotto, donuts, and my life (not exactly always in that order). I live in Bombay, India with my husband and little daughter and they both have changed my life in many beautiful ways.

SHOP INONIT

In less than a week, we'll be moving into a new apartment and I have a long list of things to buy. So these days I am on a shopping spree. But shopping with a toddler in your lap, is not really a sane idea! So, I have started venturing into a territory thus far unexplored by my shopaholic self...ONLINE SHOPPING...Yippee.

My journey into this unchartered paradise had begun a few weeks back and rather out of desperation. I badly wanted to read a particular book and  it was not available in any bookstore in India. So, I dropped my discomfort about using my credit card online and went for it. A few clicks on my laptop and a few days of wait. Then one day the doorbell rang and a box arrived from a faraway land with my name on it. I was exhilarated. I know it sounds kiddish but I was actually giggling like a small girl surprising the delivery boy. There is something about a box full of things delivered at your doorstep. I even enjoyed the waiting period and not to mention the idea of an unknown person carefully packing the books for a person he/she has never met.

So having tasted the fun of this fast growing trend,  I began shopping online for rugs, throws, a doormat and other home accessories. My husband was already bitten by the bug so more stuff like shoes and bags started arriving.

Well, I am a bit picky about the stores and brands when it comes to 'touch and feel' kind of shopping and I remain so when I am shopping online too. Thus, I researched a bit about the dot coms   which are into e-retailing in India, before making my purchases. And I happily stumbled upon ShopInOnit, a venture of Meghana & Namrata, two young Wharton School graduates, who eventually came back to their homeland in the year 2010 to start their new venture of curated e-commerce and made it popular in such a short time.

I learned that ShopInOnIt has partnership with over 100 brands ranging from the classical to quirky to kitchy products such as women's, men's and kids' apparel, jewelry, bags and my favorite section of home decor items. And they offer shipping all across India and outside.

I picked up a few of my favorite brands and their products to show them to you. For their complete range of products and prices, you can check out their website @ http://www.shop.inonit.in

Or their very popular Facebook Page
